Acrylic Painting Class, January and February 2018

Art and Ale: Art classes at the Black Creek Brewery

Acrylic Painting Class
Instructor: Kate Lagaly

Join Kate at the brewery for the first ever Art and Ale class and learn to paint with acrylic!  In this class you will learn about color mixing, values, composition and the process of painting. For this session we will work on 1 painting over the 3 classes - a landscape and an old truck. We will use the reference photos below.  Drawings will be provided as needed.





Class Dates: Changed to Wednesday Evenings January 31, February 7 and 21
from 6:00 pm - 8:15 pm. Snow make up evening is February 28


Class fee: $50 per student.  Minimum number of students: 5, Maximum: 10
Adults only

To hold your spot -  Register for class and pay the class fee. Register by
emailing Kate at katelagaly@gmail.com  (use the subject heading Art and Ale)
or stop by the brewery when we are open. You can either mail your class fee
to the brewery (with a check made out to Kate Lagaly) or stop by the brewery
when we are open to drop off your fee (a check made out to Kate Lagaly or cash).

Supply List:  Bring what you have if you already have supplies


Acrylic paint - You need a red, yellow, blue, black and white at a minimum.
Walmart has a Daler Rowney Acrylic set of 12 paint tubes
for $7.97.


Brushes - Walmart has a set of smaller brushes and a set of larger brushes
for $4.47 each pack.  You need 3 brushes that vary in size at a minimum.


Canvas panels x 1, size 16 x 20 - Walmart has a set of 3 Canvas Panels
size 16 x 20 for $7.97.  


Palette - you can use thick paper plates or an old tray or a palette if you have
one.


Optional - Each student will have a table and chair for work space.
Bring a table easel or floor easel if you have one and prefer to work upright.


Misc. - An old hand towel, paper towels, water container to clean brushes, tape,
pencil, eraser, fine mist spray bottle.

** Acrylic will stain clothes so either wear old clothes or an apron or smock
