Supply List

Colored Pencils - I use prismacolor.  Other artist quality brands will work if you already have them.

The set of 48 or 72 Prismacolor colored pencils online are usually the least expensive at Cheap Joe’s, Dick Blick,
Walmart, or Amazon

Bring what you have if you already have artist quality colored pencils.

Acrylic paint - Bring what you have.  You will need a red, yellow, blue, black and white at a
minimum.  Walmart has a Daler Rowney Acrylic set of 12 paint tubes for $7.97.

The two brands I use most often in my own work are Golden Fluid Acrylics  and DaVinci Fluid
Acrylics, but I use many other paint brands as well.

Surfaces - 1 8x10 canvas (panel or stretched or loose). 1 small piece of white drawing paper
size 5 x 7.  I will sell 8x10 canvas (loose canvas, not a panel) and 5x7 paper to you at my
cost of $1.00, just let me know.

Brushes -  You need 2-3 brushes that vary in size at a minimum.

Palette - you can use thick paper plates or an old tray or a palette.

Misc. - An old hand towel, paper towels, water container to clean brushes, tape, scissors, a fine
mist spray bottle

** Acrylic will stain clothes so either wear old clothes or an apron or smock

Sharpener - Another thing you might want to get is a battery powered pencil sharpener with a stainless steel
helical blade.  It makes life easier.

I use a battery sharpener like this for classes -

Helical blade -

OR you can use a small hand held blade sharpener -

Lifting and erasing - I also use pencil top erasers and stik tak/adhesive putty/poster putty/mounting putty
for erasing, lifting and shading.

Transfer paper - Drawings are transferred using white transfer and graphite paper.  You can get individual
sheets of graphite and white. I will have some sheets for shared student use in class.
